Created by members of the Belgrade’s Acting Out project, baitbook ran in B2 on 28 and 30 April 2011.

This brand new play explores the hidden lives of young people trapped inside a virtual, online world. This is a place where strangers can become friends and where friendships are tested to the limits.

baitbook examines the good and bad of social networking. Delving into some of the consequences of what young people do and say on the internet, it offers solutions to help them find a balance between the real world and the world online.

Speaking at the time, Writer and Director Alice Nicholas said:

“From day one the Acting Out students have been involved in the creation of the project; devising the concept and writing the script, with some participants even taking on marketing and stage management roles. The group decided that they wanted to work with a topic that was relevant to them and after exploring a number of different themes they decided on social networking as they felt it was an issue that affected all young people. It is also a subject that they had a lot to say about and many stories to tell.

“This is a very exciting and challenging opportunity for the young people as they not only get to experience what it is like to perform in a professional theatre to a paying audience, but they also get to work with, and learn from, experienced theatre professionals.”
