Making Memories

A visit to the theatre is a magical experience and often a treasured memory. Unfortunately, due to financial hardship or illness, many families across Coventry and Warwickshire are not able to make these memories.

Building upon the success of last year’s campaign, we are delighted to announce that once again, we are partnering with Coventry Foodbank and referral agencies to provide 600 tickets to our pantomime ‘Puss in Boots’. Your generous donation to our Making Memories campaign will help many families in need to experience the joy, excitement and escapism that theatre can bring.

Thanks to the kind support of audiences, Corporate partners, staff and Members, we are delighted that our Making Memories campaign, 2018, raised an incredible £10,206.

Our target for this year is £9,000 and we need your help to support families in need such as Kayesha’s;

Kayesha lives in Coventry with her grandparents, mother and two younger brothers. For several years, Kayesha’s mother has battled with her mental health and, during her darkest moments, has relied on family members to support Kayesha and her brothers. With no father figure in their lives, the children have struggled to cope with ‘losing’ their mother for short periods – which has left the entire family emotionally and financially drained. Kayesha loves to sing and make up dance routines in her bedroom, but has found it difficult to enjoy these activities whilst her mum isn’t well. Kayesha is just 7 years of age, and enjoying Puss in Boots at the Belgrade will enable her to spend precious time with her family – singing and dancing, booing and hissing!

You can support Making Memories by donating online, via Box Office or call the Development Team on 024 7684 6758.

Your donation really does make a difference, as the more we raise the more individuals we can help, by offering more opportunities to the agencies we partner with;

“Sexual violence can affect many people in a victim/survivor’s life: parents, friends, partners, children, spouses, classmates etc. In many cases leading to mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety, poor self-esteem. So for the parents & Carers, survivors and their siblings to be offered the opportunity of attending the theatre (some of our families have never been before) to provide them with an experience they will treasure at this devastating and very difficult time in their lives is a truly generous gift” – Referral Agency Feedback

So from all of us at the Belgrade Theatre – THANK YOU

The Belgrade Theatre Trust (Coventry) Ltd is a registered charity (No 219163), so all of the money raised and earned by the theatre is reinvested back into our work.
