Fazi- Arts Gymnasium

Fazi- Arts Gymnasium

Our Arts Gymnasium shines a light on the city’s 50+ community offering fun weekly sessions to promote positive well- being through theatre. Divided into three different strands; Shine On, Reaching Out and Living Well, these sessions are an opportunity to share stories, stay active and start new friendships through imagination and movement.

Fazi is a valued member of both our Reaching Out and Living Well groups, visiting the theatre at least twice a week. Reaching Out focuses on working with those who are isolated and from the least arts-engaged communities within the city, promoting positive well-being and connectivity within Coventry. While Living Well is a drama group designed to meet the needs of people with memory impairments and/ or early stage dementia. Both groups encourage a playful environment and aim to build participant’s confidence.

Here is what Fazi has to say about her Arts Gymnasium experience:

“Arts Gymnasium offers the most positive and helpful sessions in a mental, physical and emotional capacity. We are constantly doing different activities which is very good for the memory. I look forward to coming here, the group has so much respect and everyone is treated the same. Arts Gymnasium gives me freedom of choice and speech, it is lovely to be able to say your point of view. Even when I’m sad I forget everything coming here, the group gives me energy- Arts Gymnasium is unique.”
