Sleeping Beauty cast to illuminate the city at Christmas lights switch on

Posted on 23 October 2012

Our Dame, Nanny Knot and her sidekick Muddles will be taking part in various events at this year’s Christmas lights switch on in Coventry City Centre on Sunday 18 November.

You can catch Nanny Knot on stage in Broadgate at 4.15pm and again at 5.45pm where she will switch the city’s festive lights on alongside singer Wizzard and ELO front man Roy Wood and Coventry’s Lord Mayor.

You can also catch them at Millenium Place from 5pm to 5.30pm for the Coventry Transport Museum’s Campers Christmas event.

Following last year’s hugely successful event, Campers Christmas returns for 2012 even bigger and better, as Coventry Transport Museum invites scooter owners to join in, in a ‘Vans vs. Vespas Bling-Off’!

During the afternoon camper vans and scooters (they don’t have to be Vespas – any scooter is welcome) will begin to assemble in Millennium Place, and a range of festive entertainment will be on offer, as the vehicle owners cover their vans and scooters in Christmas lights and decorations.

When the City’s Christmas lights are switched on in the late afternoon/early evening, all of the campers and scooters will also switch on their decorative lights to form a glittering display, which is sure to spark some real festive cheer.

Our Dame Nanny Knot and Muddles from Sleeping Beauty, will be joining the fun throughout the afternoon, to judge the entries and to present the prizes to the winners. They will be joined by the elusive Stig from Top Gear!
