Shaun the Sheep visits local primary schools

Posted on 16 May 2011

On Thursday 12 May Shaun the Sheep made his way to the Wyken area of the city to visit St John Fisher Primary School and Richard Lee Primary School where he met the young children in a special assembly.

At each school Shaun was met with a colourful display of the children’s drawings, from which he chose his two favourites and awarded them with a family ticket to see Shaun’s Big Show at the Belgrade Theatre on Thurs 2 June.

Shaun’s Big Show is the first ever live stage adaptation of the hit BBC TV show Shaun the Sheep and features Shaun, Bitzer, Shirley, Timmy, the rest of the flock and the Naughty Pigs who dance and prance their way through a series of adventures under the nose of the short-sighted farmer.

Shaun’s Big Show has been adapted for the stage by ‘the national children’s dramatist’ David Wood, who is well-known for his stage adaptations of classic stories including Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine _and _Goodnight Mister Tom, which have both played at the Belgrade recently.
