Calling all young Coventry creative writers!

Posted on 15 September 2011

A new creative writing club for young people called Write On! Coventry Writing Squad will be starting here at the Belgrade in September.

The Coventry Writing Squad, organised by Writing West Midlands, will be led by professional writers Naomi Alsop and Rose Moulding and have been designed to help young people develop their skills in creative writing – poems, plays, stories or blogs – whilst also giving them the opportunity to learn about being a writer.

Jonathan Davidson, chief executive, Writing West Midlands, said, “Write On! Writing squads are an exciting way for young people to use their imaginations and access writing from a completely different perspective. Naomi and Rose are writers experienced at inspiring young people to produce great work and embrace the written word. The squads are a unique opportunity for budding writers to get writing.”

The writing club, for young people aged 12 to 16 will meet monthly on Saturdays from 2pm to 4pm with sessions on 24th September, 15th October, 5th November and 3rd December 2011.

There will be a session charge of £16 for the first 4 sessions or £5 per session if paid on the day. To reserve a place or for more information please contact Joanne Penn at Writing West Midlands on 0121 246 2774 or
