You're invited to Gala Night!

Posted on 5 September 2014

On Friday 19th September, join our Artistic Director Hamish Glen and Associate Director, Justine Themen for a sophisticated evening of swing in support of the Belgrade Theatre Trust (Charity number 219163).

The evening begins on the Belgrade’s Main Stage with a talk from Hamish and Justine. Get an exclusive insight into the work of the theatre as they talk about their successes over the past year, and their hopes for the future. You will also hear from some of our Community & Education participants about their involvement with our work. Email your questions to before the 19th and get your questions answered by Belgrade Management.

Then settle down to watch a gripping performance of our brand new play, Propaganda Swing, written by Peter Arnott and directed by Hamish himself. Based on the true story of Charly and His Orchestra, Propaganda Swing follows a group on musicians in 1930s Berlin as they are restricted from playing their beloved jazz music. Featuring a fantastic swing band live on stage, this enthralling show reveals the story of how some of the greatest German jazz musicians of the day entered into a Faustian pact with the Fascists so they could keep playing their music at the price of seeing it corrupted for evil.

After the performance, we invite you to join us for a post-show party in the foyer. Live music will be provided by jazz band, Junction Fever, and a complimentary glass of fizz will hopefully get you in the mood to dance the night away.

The evening starts at 7pm and tickets for this performance are priced at £21.75 & £25.75. Book now by calling our friendly Box Office team on 024 7655 3055 or book online.
