Video: Designing The Silver Sword

Posted on 18 August 2015

This September a family favourite comes to the Belgrade with a brand new stage adaptation of Ian Serraillier’s children’s classic, The Silver Sword. Set in Poland in the immediate aftermath of WWII, The Silver Sword follows the Balicki children’s search for safety as Europe is divided up and displaced people return to their homelands.

In the video below, we talk to Designer Lotte Collett about her vision for the production which begins in the war-torn city of Warsaw. Lotte also reveals how the show will incorporate projections of illustrations and handmade puppets. You can also take a look at photos of Lotte’s Model Box and Costume Sketches in the images and video gallery on the right hand side of the page.

The Silver Sword comes to the Belgrade’s B2 auditorium from Sat 26 Sept – Sat 3 Oct. Tickets are available now from just £13 for adults and £8.75 for kids by calling our friendly Box Office team on 024 7655 3055 or book online for cheaper tickets.
