2 Tone Legends Roddy ‘Radiation’ Byers, Neville Staple, Arthur ‘Gaps’ Hendrickson and Pauline Black paid an exclusive visit to the Belgrade Theatre on Saturday 26th July ahead of the return of smash-hit 2 Tone Musical Three Minute Heroes in October.

The original stars of Ska gathered at the theatre on Saturday to launch a region-wide appeal for audiences to share their personal memories of the era that inspired a musical revolution. A selection of the best 2 Tone images submitted as part of the campaign will be featured in Patrick Connellan’s set-design for Three Minute Heroes which plays on the Belgrade B2 stage from Sat 4 – Sat 25 October.

Members of the public were invited to drop into the Belgrade Theatre between 11am and 2pm on Saturday 26th July to share their photographic and other memories of the era.

The event, which was delivered in partnership with Coventry Music Museum, also featured special guest Pete Chambers, Curator/Manager of the Museum who brought along a selection of original photographs and memorabilia from the museum’s extensive collection.

Three Minute Heroes, the smash-hit 2 Tone musical will make its long awaited return to Coventry for three weeks this Autumn following two previous sell-out runs at the Belgrade Theatre in 2000 and 2001.

Telling the story of 2 Tone through the lives of five Coventry teenagers and the racial tensions that engulfed the city at that time, Three Minute Heroes is a funny, feel-good and, at times, thought-provoking tribute to the city that inspired a musical revolution. Featuring a terrific live band and a soundtrack of songs which made stars of The Specials and The Selecter, tickets for Three Minute Heroes are on sale now.

Tickets for Three Minute Heroes are priced from £9 – £21.25 and can be purchased via the Belgrade Theatre’s Box Office on 024 7655 3055 or online at where cheaper tickets are available.
