Private Dick Whittington in Rehearsal

Posted on 30 November 2016

Last week our alternative pantomime cast arrived at the Belgrade and we thought we’d give you a sneaky peak of what they’ve been up to! Click on the images on the right hand side of the page to have a look at the rehearsal photos.

This year’s festive treat will be Private Dick Whittington, a tale about a dead dame, a talking cat, a mysterious major, a haphazard hypnotist and a lost suitcase full of cash! Combined with punishing puns and groan-worthy gags, it’s an original and quirky show for the grown-ups that you’re sure to find ri-dick-ulous-ly funny! The Private Dick Whittington cast have been rehearsing to perfect their performance, and they are raring to take to the stage!

Written by the talented Nick Walker, this jolly yuletide jape will have you in stitches of laughter as you are transported from the Coventry docks to a momentous Moroccan palace. You’ll watch our hero chase after a stolen gemstone, battle shipwrecks and come face to face with suspicious snake-charmers. Anybody who thinks Christmas theatre is only for the youngsters should get themselves along and sample this creatively, crafted, film-noir spoof.

Full of side-splitting one-liners, Private Dick Whittington played by Keeley Harker seems to be full of hope and optimism. Will he be able to recover the stolen gemstone? Will Private Dick Whittington succeed in his quest? You’ll just have to wait and see what this hilarious cat-astrophe has in store for you!

Tickets are available priced from £10.50 to £16.50. Book now by calling the Belgrade’s friendly box office team on 024 7655 3055 or book online for even cheaper tickets.
