Meet the cast of Marriage

Posted on 16 January 2013

The cast of Marriage includes Janine Mellor, who many will recognise as Kelsey Philips from BBC One’s BAFTA award-winning drama Casualty and Mercedes from ITV drama Fat Friends, which she appeared in alongside Gavin & Stacey actors Ruth Jones, James Corden and Alison Steadman.

Returning to the Belgrade is Barbara Young, who played the Nurse in our production of The Father last year and Paul Trussell, who played Le Noir in our award-winning production The Three Musketeers and the Princess of Spain in 2010. Jan Goodman also returns to the Belgrade for the first time since the ’80s, when she performed in numerous shows such as Murder at the Vicarage and The Hunchback of Notre Dame opposite Marina Sirtis and a live goat!

The cast also includes Midsomer Murders and Family Affairs actor John Hopkins and Mark Fleischmann, who plays Mr Jeffries in popular CBBC series Wolfblood, Lloyd Pinky in BBC comedy Being Human and on stage in The Cherry Orchard at the National Theatre.

Joining them is Mark Extance, who recently worked at the National Theatre on Travelling Light and Scenes from an Execution and Robert Morgan, who recently acted in Oedipus at Hackney Empire and BBC1 drama Waking the Dead. Completing the cast is Nick Figgis, whose TV roles have seen him work on E4 drama Skins and Corontation Street and on stage in Peeler at Nuffield Theatre.

The actors will share the stage with musical director Polina Shepherd and Merlin Shepherd, who will provide an upbeat soundtrack of Klezmer and original Russian music of romance throughout the show.

Marriage is running on the B2 auditorium from Sat 2 to Sat 23 Feb.
