Watch Lisa Maxwell as Judy Garland in the UK Tour of End of the Rainbow

Posted on 3 February 2016

With less than two weeks until Peter Quilter’s End of the Rainbow arrives in Coventry, we took a little trip behind the scenes to chat to cast members Lisa Maxwell, Gary Wilmot and Sam Attwater about what to expect from this dramatic and ferociously funny musical drama based on the life and loves of Judy Garland…

Plus, you can hear an exclusive preview of the lovely Lisa and her stunning rendition of ‘The Man That Got Away’ performed live from rehearsals in our latest video.

It’s 1968 and Judy Garland, a once-glittering star, is in London to make her explosive comeback. But off stage, holed up in her hotel room, Judy is battling with her young new fiancé, her devoted accompanist, and her destructive reliance on drugs and alcohol. Will she be able to conquer her demons and reclaim her crown as one of history’s great musical icons?

Featuring Garland’s most memorable songs The Man That Got Away, Come Rain Or Come Shine, The Trolley Song and of course Somewhere Over The Rainbow, End of the Rainbow is a fiercely funny and emotionally charged musical play filled with Garland’s legendary tenacity, razor-sharp wit and once-in-a-generation voice.

End of the Rainbow runs from Tues 23 – Sat 27 Feb on the Main Stage. For tickets, call our friendly Box Office on 024 7655 3055 or visit
