Introducing Gallagher Insurance

Posted on 29 March 2019

This week, we’re wishing a warm welcome to our new supporter Gallagher Insurance, Risk Management and Consulting. As well as being a valued member of our Directors Club, Gallagher also sent over a team of volunteers last week to support our relaxed performance of hip hop musical In The Willows, and we’re hugely grateful for their help.

A relaxed performance is a show that has been specially adapted to provide an open and welcoming environment for audience members who may enjoy, or benefit from, a more laid-back performance style, including those with Autism Spectrum Conditions, sensory and communication disorders, learning disabilities or dementia. Changes may include leaving the house lights on, lowering the noise level of some of the action on stage, and keeping the doors open to allow people to come and go freely from the auditorium. There is also usually an introduction to explain a bit more about what to expect from the show.

Barbara Dainty, Senior Account Manager for Gallagher, said, “The shared values of Gallagher are the foundation of our company and part of the Gallagher way is to support one another, but not just in business. As the Coventry face of Gallagher, we are keen to support charities in the local area where we can, with both fundraising and volunteering.

“When we met with the Belgrade we were inspired hearing about all of the amazing work that they undertake with the local community and we wanted to offer our support. The relaxed performance of In The Willows gave us the opportunity to put a team of volunteers together and begin our journey in supporting the Belgrade Theatre Trust.”

As a registered charity, the Belgrade relies on the continued support of businesses and other supporters to ensure that we can carry on serving the local community through our artistic and educational work, offering initiatives such as relaxed performances.
