Heritage is the future

Next Tuesday, the latest cohort of Acting Out participants take to the stage in a production of Dafydd James’ Heritage.

Acting Out is our ground breaking Work Related Learning programme, which works with young people who are not achieving their full potential within the mainstream education system. It provides them with an opportunity to participate in drama, dance and performing arts business activities based at the theatre.

The production of Heritage marks the end of participants two years at the Belgrade and will count towards their final examination grades.

Acting Out is just one of the programmes that fall under the umbrella of Inspiring the Next Generation. This campaign has already secured half of the £500,000 overall target and is now seeking to raise the remaining £250,000 to secure the work of the Belgrade’s Community & Education Company, for the next three years.

This work includes, namely: Theatre in Education (Big School), Acting Out, Middle and Senior Youth Theatre Groups, Black and Asian Youth Theatre Groups, and our Outreach Youth Theatre
