Posted on 20 October 2015

Curious kids from across Coventry and Warwickshire can look forward to a bumper programme of family-friendly activities taking place this October half term at the Belgrade Theatre.

Throughout October 2015, the Belgrade Theatre will be showcasing some of the best new work for young people as part of the October Festival of Theatre for Children and Young People with highlights which include a new U.K touring production of The Cat In The Hat, Marty MacDonald’s Farm featuring the voice of CBeebies Justin Fletcher and, from the company behind The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom, a magical new adaptation of Vivian French’s The Snow Dragon.
Kicking off the festivities on Sat 24 October, the Belgrade Theatre will be opening its doors to curious kids and their families for an afternoon of free activities, drama games, storytelling and crafts between 10am – 4pm.

Celebrate Half Term in style with an unmissable programme of free events showcasing some of our favourite children’s shows touring to the Belgrade this Autumn.

Get creative with free craft sessions taking place throughout the day in the Burbidge Gallery including Farmyard Finger Puppets with Marty Macdonald, mask-making mischief with The Cat in the Hat and the chance to take away your very own Snow Dragon.

Unleash your inner feline with free face painting inspired by Dr Seuss’ best-loved book series, get to grips with the Belgrade’s hidden spaces with our interactive family theatre trail and enjoy a free make-up demonstration from Coventry’s very own Queen of glamour, Dame Clarabelle Crumble who’ll be on hand to treat audiences to a sneak preview of some of the weird and wonderful costumes featured in this year’s magical pantomime, Beauty and the Beast.

Visitors can also take advantage of free storytelling sessions in our Café Bar, complimentary soft play zone located on the Burbidge Gallery and a range of family-friendly stalls and information services located throughout the foyer spaces. Plus, don’t forget to join Marty Macdonald on the Belgrade Plaza for the chance to ‘Hook a Duck’ from our fountain to be in with a chance of winning a VIP Festival Pass for four!

Meanwhile in B2, audiences are invited to join renowned children’s theatre makers, Tall Stories for a magical day of storytelling, music and song in The Snow Dragon, an all-new adventure from the company behind The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom.
