Forbes Masson's Crackers!

Here’s some photographs of Forbes Masson as the Fairy Godmother, Barbara Cadabara in our B2 Xmas Show Crackers

Crackers follows the story of the hapless young Leonard, who finds himself trapped behind the checkout at cut-price Christmas shop Myrrh’s Bizarre Bazaar. He longs to escape, find true love and live his dreams, but his boss, the evil entrepreneur Archibald Myrrh, has other abominable plans.

The script, music and lyrics for the show have all been written by Scottish playwright Forbes Masson who is renowned for his inane writing style and innovative, cartoon-like characters, such as those he created for BBC sitcom The High Life with stage and screen actor Alan Cumming.

Forbes said, “Crackers is a Christmas comedy musical sing-along psychopanto for grown-ups, with lots of stick in your head melodies, naughty, witty lyrics and a storyline that’s completely crazy. It’s packed with original, fantastic and funny songs and an hilariously irreverent script with extraordinary characters.”

The cast of Crackers includes fellow RSC actor Geoffrey Freshwater as Archibald Myrrh, comic actress Jenny Bede as his daughter Miriam Myrrh and Daniel Curtis as Leonard.

Forbes Masson, who is no stranger to acting, having been a regular with the RSC since 2003, will also make an appearance on stage as Fairy Godmother Barbara Cadabara. During his time at the RSC Forbes was a member of the 2009-2011 core ensemble, alongside Geoffrey Freshwater.

As ever, the B2 Xmas Show has been created especially for grown-ups and at just over an hour long its perfect for office parties or for those wanting to enjoy a Christmas night out away from the kids.
