Did you know…we offer an alternative to Panto?

Posted on 17 December 2012

Since the addition of our smaller theatre, B2, in 2007 we have developed a strand of work that offers an alternative to the traditional Pantomime. The B2 Xmas Show is festive fun for grown ups. Previous years have seen an intruder elf offering festive cheer to bah humbug thieves in The Night Before Christmas and an old time music hall double act with Dick and Ginger in The Cheeky Chappies’ Christmas Cracker.

This year sees the return of Crackers, a slice of musical madness that takes a look at Leonard, whose life is a complete and utterly weird Pantomime. Being able to offer a light hearted, comical show like Crackers enables more people to engage with and be entertained by the Belgrade Theatre during this festive season.

Crackers forms part of the Belgrade’s produced work* and is made possible due to money that is given, earned or raised being reinvested into the work that we do rather than being distributed as profit.

You can find out more about our charitable activities and how you can support the Belgrade Theatre by visiting the Support Us pages of our website.

*Produced work refers to productions that are developed by the Belgrade Theatre. The Belgrade are responsible for every aspect of the production from commissioning a script, casting the roles, directing and staging the production, building the sets and making the costumes and promoting the production. The produced work offered at the Belgrade bears witness to the stories of Coventry and its position as a city of Peace and Reconciliation. The Belgrade is the only professional producing theatre in Coventry.
