Did you know…..the Belgrade works with businesses?

Posted on 9 May 2012

The Belgrade relies on our funding from the Arts Council and Coventry City Council to subsidise the work that we put on our stages, and to help pay for our work in the Community. However, we also raise money from individuals, Grant Making Trusts & Foundations and from Businesses.

39 businesses are currently members of the Belgrade’s Directors’ Club, a membership scheme which offers bespoke packages to each of its partners.

This week sees the opening of We Love You City, which is being sponsored by local company Shortland Horne. David Shortland, Chairman of Shortland Horne said, “I am delighted that Shortland Horne is sponsoring We Love You City, anyone who saw it last time will know what a great show it is. We have had an association with the Belgrade for many years, supporting its redevelopment and as Directors’ Club members, but this is the first time that we’ve sponsored a production and look forward to benefiting from the association with it”.

We are also hosting a B2B Expo in partnership with the Coventry Telegraph and Federation of Small Businesses on 21 and 22 May.

The Belgrade Theatre plays an important role for the business community. We are a key part of Coventry’s night time economy, bringing people into the city in the evenings; we play a crucial role in providing the social infrastructure of the city, which makes attracting the best people to live and work here much easier; and we are a major employer.
