Did you know….the Belgrade is developing the future stars of British theatre?

Posted on 17 April 2012

The Belgrade Theatre is proud to announce that two participants of the Community and Education Company have been accepted to prestigious drama schools.

Jeanette Mudhai has been offered a place on London’s National Youth Theatre Summer Programme while Tia Guest will be going to study at the Central School of Speech and Drama. Both Jeanette and Tia have been part of the Community & Education Company for a number of years and performed together in the Young Company productions of All the Moves and Spring Awakening.

Since first opening in 1958, the Belgrade has played an important role in developing creative professionals. Well known stage and screen actors like Richard Briers, Sir Ian McKellen, David Suchet, Rosemary Leach and Clive Owen all started their careers at the Belgrade; in fact Clive Owen was a member of the Belgrade Youth Theatre.

By offering young people like Jeanette and Tia the chance to join participatory arts activities and develop their performing arts skills the Belgrade is continuing to develop creative professionals and invest in the future of British theatre.
