Did you know... you can go backstage at the Belgrade this weekend?

Have you ever wanted to see behind curtains and see what goes on backstage at the Belgrade Theatre? Maybe you’d like to stand on the stage and see the auditorium from an actor’s point of view? Or would you like to know a bit more about the history of the Belgrade?

As part of the 5th anniversary celebrations, marking 5 years since the Belgrade Theatre reopened following a £14million redevelopment, the Belgrade are offering FREE backstage tours on Saturday 15 September.

Ever since the Belgrade first opened in 1958, it has remained at the forefront of producing cutting edge and ground-breaking theatre and education work. It has influenced many creative professionals who have acted, directed or even been part of its Youth Theatre.

Actors such as Sir Ian McKellen, Robert Lindsey, Dame Joan Plowright, Richard Briers and David Suchet all came to the Belgrade, attracted by our brave approach to our artistic work. Sir Trevor Nunn had his first directorship here and Clive Owen learnt his craft participating in our Youth Theatre.

The Backstage Tours will take you behind the scenes of where these famous faces got started and you may even bump into some actors currently performing at the Belgrade.

Tours take place on Saturday 15 September at 10am and 11am. Please book your place by 5pm on Friday 14 September by calling our Box Office on 024 7655 3055. Places are limited.

You can find out more about our charitable activities and how you can support the Belgrade Theatre by visiting the Support Us pages of our website.
