Coventry and Warwickshire Tourism and Culture Award Success!

Posted on 25 September 2015

We are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded the title of ‘Best Venue – Music, Arts and Theatre’ at the first, annual Coventry and Warwickshire Tourism awards 2015.

The event, organised by the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce and Quidem, which owns Touch FM stations and Rugby FM, took place at the Ricoh Arena on Thursday, September 24 and featured representatives from over 50 of the region’s top tourist destinations including pubs, restaurants, theatres, art galleries. museums and stately homes.

Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Coventry City Council and Warwickshire County Council were also among those supporting the awards, which aims to showcase the diverse attractions, venues and experiences on offer in the region. Up to five nominees were shortlisted for each of the 13 awards on offer, promoting the area’s best restaurants, hotels, attractions and experiences and the people behind them.

Angela Tellyn, partnership manager at the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce and a member of the judging panel responsible for deciding the final winners on the night, said: “Coventry and Warwickshire has a plethora of arts, culture, heritage and leisure destinations to visit and it is about time we shone a spotlight on them and celebrated them for making the region the special place to visit that it is.

“The calibre for entries this year was excellent and shortlisting the nominees was a tough decision but the judging team has chosen those which we believe best reflect the area and its rich culture, history and heritage.”

Steve Orchard, of Quidem, said: “The Coventry and Warwickshire Tourism and Culture awards are of real significance for our region which boasts a phenomenal amount of world class assets for visitors to the area and locals alike to enjoy. These organisations give our region its unique appeal and we encourage you to enter these awards so that Coventry and Warwickshire can put their mark on the map- on a national level”
