A new year welcome to corporate supporter Aubrey Allen

Posted on 30 December 2019

This week, we’re starting the new year with a very warm welcome to our newest corporate member Aubrey Allen. Renowned for delivering quality service and consistency since 1933, the local butchers this year joins us as a Silver Corporate Supporter, helping to fund our wide-ranging work in the community.

Thanks in part to the generous support of our corporate members, 2019 has been a fantastic year for the Belgrade. Among other things, our funding, including that from corporate sponsors, has enabled us to reach an amazing 13,471 participants through our workshops programmes, and to work with over 40 UK artists to develop exciting home-grown projects.

Russell Allen, Managing Director of Aubrey Allen, said:“As a business founded and still based in Coventry we are delighted to be a supporter of the Belgrade Theatre this year.”

As a registered charity (number 219163) the Belgrade depends on funding from trusts, members and corporate sponsors, and against a backdrop of decreasing public subsidy, support from the local business community has never been more important for us.

Local businesses account for approximately 20% of the Belgrade’s annual fundraised income, all of which is reinvested in projects such as our range of free youth theatre groups, our world-renowned Theatre in Education work, regular drama sessions for over 50s designed to combat isolation and promote wellbeing, and our talent development schemes, including creative writing courses, apprenticeships and assistant director traineeships.

As such, we’re delighted to be adding another name to our valued community of members, and would like to take the opportunity to thank Aubrey Allen for choosing to support us for 2020.

With Coventry’s year as City of Culture in 2021 drawing closer and a major redevelopment project currently underway, there’s never been a more exciting time to join us. If you are interested in becoming a corporate supporter of the Belgrade Theatre, please email or call 024 7684 6758.

The Belgrade Theatre Trust is a registered charity (number 219163). This means that all the money given, raised or earned is not distributed as profit but kept and reinvested in the work that we do. To find out more, visit our Support Us page.
