Join us as we tell the story of reggae music, from the arrival of the Windrush generation from Jamaica – bringing their stories, history and music with them – and hear how their music evolved through the decades to take the world by storm.

Narrated by comedian John Simmit, the show features ska, rock steady, calypso, gospel, lovers rock, dance-hall and reggae, all played live by the JA Reggae Band.

Get ready to dance to the music of Desmond Dekker, Jimmy Cliff, Toots and the Maytals, Prince Buster, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Lord Kitchener, Millie Small and many, many more.

Running time: Approx. 2hrs 20mins, including interval.

Dancing in the Auditorium

We know that some of our audiences love to get up and have a dance when they come to see bands and tribute acts at the Belgrade, and that’s fine by us as long as they’re seated in the Stalls section of the auditorium, and are considerate of other audience members around them and not disrupt their enjoyment of the show.

For those patrons who want to remain seated we recommend that they book their seats in the Circle* where dancing is prohibited due to the rake of the seats making it unsafe.

For productions other than musical tributes audiences must remain seated throughout the production.

*Please note that for health and safety reasons this also includes boxes G and I.

Thank you for your co-operation.
