Our fantastic Youth Acting Classes run on Saturday afternoons for young people aged 11-16 (Secondary group).

Through these fun and practical drama workshops, young people can stretch their creativity, improve their confidence, learn new skills and make new friends.

Belgrade Rocks! Whether it’s Comedy, Drama, Music or Mystery, there’s a lot to be inspired by at the Belgrade this term. Motivated by the Belgrade’s season of shows, and looking forward to Coventry’s year as City of Culture in 2021, the theme of our Summer Term is Belgrade Rocks.

Over the 10 week term, participants will explore various styles of theatre, and work towards creating their own brand new work. Activities will include performing, devising, writing and directing. We’ll explore how to create and then stage a brand new piece of theatre to be performed for an invited audience of family and friends at the end of the term. When booking, please be aware that the sharing of work for this term will be on Saturday 11th July.

Youth Acting Classes are led by experienced DBS checked practitioners in the Belgrade’s safe and professional theatre. No previous drama experience is necessary to take part. Just bring comfortable clothing and footwear, a bottle of water, and be ready to have fun!

Youth Acting Classes take place on Saturday afternoons at the Belgrade Theatre from 12 noon to 1.30pm. See Ticket Information on the right for specific dates this term.

In order for young people to get the most from these activities, the groups are separated by age based on school years. Participants are welcome join the 8-11 group while they are at primary school, including when they’re in Year 6. If a young person is in Year 7 and above, they can join the 11-16 group.
