Belgrade Theatre Springboard Initiative

Belgrade Theatre Springboard Initiative

In 2015 the Belgrade Theatre established its Springboard initiative, to support early stage artists and companies to develop to the next chapter of their careers. Through Springboard we provide training opportunities, such as paid Trainee Assistant Director posts; as well as office space, mentoring, communications and fundraising support to our Springboard Companies in the delivery of their productions and events.

Will you be part of our Springboard Initiative?

Calling all emerging artists! The Belgrade Theatre is now welcoming applications for a new intake of Springboard companies and individuals.

Launched in 2015, Springboard exists to help early career artists take the next step in their development. We offer one to one meetings to provide tailored support for 3 years, as well as give space to create new work and projects. Our selected Springboard Companies are able to access:

  • Selected performance slots in our season programme and free rehearsal space for Research and Development (1 Show or R&D period per year)
  • Free office space at the Belgrade Theatre
  • Marketing cash support for shows being performed at the Belgrade Theatre
  • Up to 3 training courses paid for by the Belgrade Theatre
  • 1 invitation to a large scale industry event or conference
  • Ongoing advice and guidance from Belgrade staff, covering education, marketing and fundraising (including applying to the Arts Council)

Previous Springboard Companies have gone on to tour their developed pieces; perform at festivals such as the Brighton Fringe and Edinburgh Fringe; and to secure co-productions with other venues.

We will be inviting 3 companies onto Springboard in Spring 2019 and another 2 in Autumn 2019.

Deadline for Spring start: 14 January 2019

Deadline for Autumn start: 15 July 2019

If Springboard sounds like the right opportunity for you, download the application pack for more information and how to apply.
